Overview:
Thailand has retained
its unique culture, traditions and language and has been home to
highly developed civilizations even before the Thai themselves
arrived. Begin in Bangkok, one of the world's most exciting
cities and one of extremes. It is a city that is larger than
life, with its futuristic high-rise buildings juxtaposed against
the glittering Grand Palace.
Next, on to
Cambodia.
Arrive in Siem Reap in northern Cambodia, to see the incredible
Temples of Angkor, which occupies an area twice as large as
Manhattan. But, there is more to this country: endearing Phnom
Penh, with its mix of French colonial and Khmer influences, the
great lake of Tonle Sap, rural landscapes filled with stilt
houses and rice paddies, and a warm, friendly people rebuilding
their country and reclaiming their heritage.
