DAY 3: Jerusalem, ISRAEL
The Israel Museum is the largest and most important cultural institution in all of Israel. Here the Shrine of the Book houses the Dead Sea Scrolls. View these treasures before travelling to Bethlehem and the Shepherd's Fields where, according to the Bible, an angel announced the birth of Jesus to the shepherds. ►For Jerusalem hotel suggestions, see above.
DAY 4: Jerusalem, ISRAEL
Begin your explorations of the Old City with the stunning views of Jerusalem and the Garden of Gethsemane from the Mount of Olives. Afterward, enter the Old City to visit the Western Wall, the Jewish quarter and the Convent of Zion Sisters. DAY 5: Jerusalem / Masada / Dead Sea / Qumran / Jerusalem, ISRAEL
Visit Masada, once the stronghold of the Bar Kochba revolt. Continue to the Qumran Caves on the Dead Sea's northern shore where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered — the earliest known surviving copies of Biblical documents made before AD 100. ►For Jerusalem hotel suggestions, see above.
DAY 6: Jerusalem, ISRAEL / Nazareth, ISRAEL / Tiberias,
ISRAEL
Explore Beit Shean, rebuilt in 63 BC by the Romans, who renamed it Scythopolis; it contains one of Israel's best preserved Roman amphitheaters. Built on the highest hill in the region, the city's views of the fertile valleys are spectacular. Continue to Nazareth to visit Mary's Well before reaching Cana, the site of Jesus' first miracle. ►Suggested hotel:

DAY 7: Tiberias, ISRAEL
Board a boat on the Sea of Galilee. Stop at Capernaum to visit St. Peter's house and then continue to the Mount of Beatitudes, the site where Christ gave his famous Sermon on the Mount. Later, drive to the Golan Heights, a natural cliff-like area of land overlooking Upper Galilee.

DAY 8: Tiberias, ISRAEL / Safed, ISRAEL /
Haifa, ISRAEL / Caesarea, ISRAEL / Tel Aviv, ISRAEL
Located on Israel's Mediterranean coastline is the beautiful seaport city of Haifa. Dating back to Biblical times, the city was built on the slopes of historic Mount Carmel. Over time, it has fallen under the rule of the Byzantines, Arabs, Crusaders, Ottomans and Egyptians. Haifa is home to numerous cultural centers and museums including the Bahá'í World Center. Visit the Shrine of Bab, one of Haifa's most prominent landmarks. View the astonishing city of Caesarea en route to Tel Aviv. Built by King Herod in honor of Caesar Augustus, the ancient city of Caesarea is significant in Roman and Christian history.
