Hotel Reviews

Travel Intelligence's hotel reviews are sourced from our 100+ professional travel writers, as well as a team of around 25 dedicated hotel reviewers. The process works like this: for 'intelligence' of new hotel openings, recommendations and new discoveries to add to the site, we largely rely on our wide network of writers and contributors. Sometimes clients recommend places to us as well with their own short hotel reviews. In both cases we check third party sources and reviews for corroboration - sources we trust such as Conde Nast traveller, Travel & Leisure, the Hideaway Report, NB Review and leading national newspapers, as well as user reviews from online sources.

Once 'passed', the hotels join our selected lists, with short descriptions, straplines and images. Hotels do not pay to be included or to have hotel reviews posted - our choice is entirely impartial. Clearly we sometimes get it wrong - if you think a hotel we have chosen should not be there, please tell us! And vice versa. But the intention is to create a list of hotels worth staying in (for whatever reason, and regardless of budget range) - hotels with soul - for a particular destination.

Hotels then join our reviewing rota - currently we have full hotel reviews for over 60% of the hotels on Travel Intelligence in our key destinations, and our target is 85%.

We also carry user generated hotel reviews. Unlike many user feedback sites, we do not allow anyone to post a hotel review. (For example, hotels themselves often use feedback sites to generate favourable reviews for themselves). Only clients who have booked with us, and who we can therefore verify have stayed in the hotels, can post feedback o hotel review. This ensures the most accurate blend of hotel reviews - both professional and user generated - of any travel website.

In addition to displaying hotel reviews by destination, we've also created hundreds of hotlists - from generic ones in key destinations, such as boutique hotels, design hotels, small luxury hotels and hideaways; to more eclectic lists, for example Classic British Country Houses and Andalucian haciendas.
