Beginning today, Thursday, 3 December 2009 and probably lasting until mid-January 2010, The Hotel Bel-Air in Beverly Hills is selling everything including beds, couches, chairs, lamps, pots, silverware, pillows and TVs.

Prices range from a couple of dollars to thousands.

The sale begins at 10 am, but it’s not being held at the five-star hotel because it is undergoing renovations for at least another year. The sale is held at the former Circuit City store in Santa Monica, CA at 1251 4th St, Santa Monica, CA 90401

See the video on ABC.
http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/local/los_angeles&id=7150798

Very cool!

a DT DT (DavidTravel Daily Tip)

Nearly everything was taken out of the hotel, and the choice items fill two entire floors.

I will also be in LA on Saturday support the AIDS/LifeCycle aka “The AIDS Ride” from SF to LA ending on 6 June in LA….and to cheer on friends (including Vincent Tamariz, Nick Trubenback and Ric Uggen [aka, the much loved Ginger Brewlay].

AIDS/LifeCycle is a fully supported, 7-day bike from San Francisco to Los Angeles, May 31 – June 6, 2009. It’s a life-changing ride—not a race—through some of California’s most beautiful countryside.

AIDS/LifeCycle is co-produced by the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and is designed to advance their shared interest to end the pandemic and human suffering caused by AIDS.

I am a member of the OC PROST that meets the second Wednesday of each month. www.ocprost.com

It draws a top notch group of colleauges, including visiting guests from among the best suppliers around the world.

If you are a travel industry executive, including a great travel consultant, let me know if you’d like to attend. The cost is a reasonable $45 for non-members per luncheon.
